Key Accountabilities:Conduct risk assessments.Provide support through safety planning.Brief crisis counselling support.Complete intake and assessments.Provide general information & referrals.Advocate for client outcomesProvide practical support with accommodation and transport.This role will also be required to answer and respond to incoming calls on the Queensland Sexual Assault Line, and at times will also be required to answer and respond to incoming calls on Mensline.What we’re looking forTertiary Qualification (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or relevant fieldOR other relevant qualifications with substantial experience in the domestic and family violence sector2+ years' experience in the community sector Demonstrated ability in working with women who have experienced domestic and family violence preferably within in a crisis context.Demonstrated understanding of feminist practice and how this is used as a framework to understand and respond to the gendered nature of violence against women and children.Confident with IT Skills.Thrives in a fast past environment.Demonstrates a high level of resilience.All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory background checks, including a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, referee checks, proof of eligibility to work in Australia and evidence you are up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.Interested?
