1800RESPECT is Australia’s national 24/7 service offering free, high-quality, inclusive, accessible, and responsive expert support through confidential information, resources, and counselling for those impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence. DVConnect will work collaboratively with Telstra Health and other partners to deliver the 1800RESPECT service on behalf of the Australian Government, ensuring that all people who access the service will be supported compassionately, triaged effectively, and referred efficiently from their first contact.About the RoleThis role will be leading a team of Quality and Training Specialists working to ensure we are delivering high quality and contractually compliant services.This will be achieved by:Providing oversight, guidance, and support to the research, design, and delivery of internal training programsInforming best practice trauma-informed responses across 1800RESPECTUndertaking quality appraisals, data analysis, caller record reviews and file auditsSupport the team with regular coaching or mentoringInvestigating complaints and identifying appropriate recommendationsThis position will also be required to provide phone counselling services at times and contribute holistically across as programs as required, in supporting staff and callers.What we’re looking forDemonstrated experience in conducting internal practice audits and reviews and/or experience within a quality related position would be highly advantageousDemonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and teaching styles/strategies to achieve desired outcomesAbility to analyse information and communicate key points clearly and succinctly both orally and in writingInnovative outlook to ensure continuous improvementDemonstrated experience in successfully mentoring/engaging and motivating team members to enhance practice skills/professional knowledge and service deliveryAble to lead, follow and feed into best practice clinical guidelines and protocols to support first response and specialist counselling teamsHighly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsDemonstrated evidence of a working style that is committed to work independently and as part of a team and strong level of initiative.Demonstrated good cultural responsiveness and commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Strong problem-solving skills and use of highly developed professional judgementContribute to the generation of best practice-based training material and content specific to working with individuals who are impacted by complex trauma.Understanding of vicarious trauma and self-care to manage personal impact from exposure to critical and complex trauma issues and to provide appropriate support to teamQualifications & ExperienceIn addition to the above, it is essential that you have:A tertiary degree (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or relevant field4+ years specialist trauma counselling experience12+ months leadership experienceEligible for professional membership of any of the following governing bodies – ACA, PACFA, AASW or AHPRAQuality related qualifications would be well regardedCert IV Training and Assessment or equivalent well regardedIt is a genuine requirement of this position that it be filled by a woman as permitted in sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory background checks, including a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, referee checks and proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
