We are seeking flexible, friendly and motivated staff to join our amazing team.Come and work with a passionate and supportive teamPermanent part time positionSCHADS Award Level 4 + shift penalties + superannuationYour New RoleThe Womensline Crisis Intervention Counsellor is responsible for making professional assessment of the needs of callers and taking all reasonable action to respond to the presenting needs within the safety, operating framework, and principles of the organisation.The position will predominantly prioritise placement of clients in emergency and temporary accommodation however will be required to work across all functions of the Womensline as directed to meet service delivery needs.This role will also be required to answer and respond to calls on the Queensland Sexual Assault Line, and Mensline Line as directed by the leadership team.We are currently seeking to fill 2 placement shifts per week Monday and Tuesday 7:30am-4:30pm, there is also opportunity for additional shifts outside of these specific placement shifts if you are seeking more hours.What we’re looking forTertiary Qualification (of minimum 3 years duration) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or relevant fieldOR other relevant qualifications with substantial experience in the domestic and family violence sectorDemonstrated ability in working with women who have experienced domestic and family violence preferably within in a crisis contextDemonstrated understanding of feminist practice and how this is used as a framework to understand and respond to the gendered nature of violence against women and children2+ years' experience in the community sector Solid IT skillsHigh level of resilience and good self-care practices in place to support working in an environment that can be challenging and demanding at timesIt is a genuine requirement of this position that it be filled by a woman as permitted in sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory background checks, including a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, referee checks, proof of eligibility to work in Australia and evidence you are up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.Why join DVConnectAbove Award conditions including paid parental leave, additional leave provisions; improved penalty rates and more generous long service leave provisionsFamily friendly workplaceFlexible work practicesEAP support and Professional Supervision provided Competitive salary and benefits including generous salary packaging, meal and entertainment card and discount programs availableOpportunity for ongoing professional developmentInterested?
