Join a family friendly, passionate teamPart Time position/s with options to work from 3 to 9 shifts per fortnightFlexible work options with Work From Home opportunitiesShort term contract to September 2020 with expectation to be ongoingYour New RoleAs a Specialist Trauma Counsellor your new role will involve providing specialist counselling to clients of the national 24/7 1800RESPECT line, who have been impacted by domestic and family violence and/or sexual violence. The position works within an established national framework and requires the highest level of professionalism, ethical behaviour and compassion.You will:Provide appropriate trauma telephone counselling to clients of the 1800RESEPCT lineSupport our clients in managing risks and providing appropriate referralsMeet statutory obligations as mandatory reporters in cases of children at risk of harmUsing a range of computer and online programs in updating case notes and entering other statistical dataDemonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and values of DVConnectThis is a 24/7 service and we are currently seeking to fill a variety of shifts across the week including days, evenings and overnights. In order to consider applications to 'work from home' you will need to commit to working a minimum of 5 shifts per fortnight, including a minimum of 2 overnight shifts (9pm-6am) if required.What You Need to SucceedYou will need a minimum of 3 years specialist counselling experience (phone counselling desirable) supporting clients who have been impacted by domestic, family and/or sexual violence.Other essential requirements include:Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related disciplineEligible for membership with governing body of profession - AASW, APS, ACA, PACFADemonstrated ability to work within a challenging and demanding (although rewarding) work environmentCommitment to a 24/7 service and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including overnights if requiredAbility to attend 2-3 weeks initial training and if 'work from home' is an agreed arrangement, a minimum of an additional 4 weeks in the Brisbane office.Strong team work; flexible, adaptable and positive approachAbility to attend training days, team meetings and supervision sessions in Brisbane throughout the yearWhy Join DVConnect?Friendly, supportive and passionate team who are making a difference in the lives of people impacted by domestic, family and sexual violenceFamily friendly workplace with flexible working arrangementsOn-site parkingCompetitive salary and benefits including salary packaging, meal and entertainment card and discount program available.Opportunity for on-going professional developmentEAP and professional supervision providedInterested?
